A few words about Author
Shyam Babu is an Indian psychological thriller author and the creator of the suspense novel Lucid Lies.
Born in the "Manchester of South India", He started out his career as a software developer. Alongside his job in technology I always had a strong interest in storytelling especially psychological thrillers, suspense and horror.
During the COVID lockdowns, he started writing again after many years. What began out as a couple of short stories and it slowly evolved into a bigger project and so on to become his first novel.
His first novel, Lucid Lies, discusses on themes of memory, fear and the thin border between reality and illusion. The manuscript went through months of careful rewriting and editing. What initially got written as a draft of over one lakh words was honed down to a sharper and more focused psychological thriller.
His writing process usually starts with a simple spark of an idea. From there, he creates sketches and outlines, constructing the story in several drafts. I pay close attention to the meaning behind each of the twists and the rhythm that moves the narrative forward.

Readers Review
...The suspense was maintained till the end and the complete read was a shocker.

What I’m Writing Now
Two thrillers are in progress. One leans into horror. The other into revenge. Both center on misdirection, buried motives, and layered twists. If you’ve read Lucid Lies, you’ll notice the clues—the pieces that make sense only after the ending. I build stories that reward attention and build tension slowly, with purpose.
